Marzieh Shafie, DMD

Marzieh Shafie, Rebis Health Doctor of Dental Medicine.

Airway Dentist

Dr. Marzieh Shafie is an Airway Dentist at Rebis Health with more than a decade of clinical experience. Her work focuses on the relationship between craniofacial development, breathing, sleep physiology, and long term health. She practices dentistry through a systems-based lens, recognizing that the mouth plays a critical role in airway function, neurologic regulation, and restorative sleep.

Dr. Shafie earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota. She is a Certified Functional Health Practitioner and pursues advanced education in sleep disordered breathing, airway development, and physiologic dentistry. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry, the American Laser Study Club, and the Spencer Study Club.

Her clinical focus includes comprehensive airway evaluation for both children and adults, working within an interdisciplinary framework to identify contributors to fragmented sleep, mouth breathing, jaw underdevelopment, and compromised breathing patterns. By supporting healthy airway development and addressing sleep related dysfunction, she aims to influence long term health outcomes rather than simply manage symptoms.

Dr. Shafie believes restorative sleep and efficient breathing are foundational to cognitive clarity, emotional regulation, cardiovascular stability, and overall resilience. Her goal is to help patients experience meaningful improvements in sleep quality, energy, and wellbeing through airway-centered care.

  • After more than a decade in dentistry, I realized I was drawn to something deeper than restoring teeth. When my young daughter struggled with disrupted sleep, I began learning about sleep disordered breathing and airway development. Watching her transformation after airway focused care changed the direction of my career.

At the same time, reflecting on my mother’s early passing from a heart attack and her history of loud snoring reinforced how closely breathing and systemic health are connected. Today, my work is rooted in helping patients breathe better and sleep more deeply, because the impact extends far beyond the mouth.

  • I was born in Iran and spent part of my childhood in Montreal, moving frequently and learning to adapt to new environments. Curiosity about how the human body works has always stayed with me. I was the student who read the biology chapters ahead of schedule, long before discovering that airway health would bring that early fascination full circle.
